Development of improved varieties and quality planting materials.<\/h5>\n<p>Six promising accessions namely.<br \/>\nWUCC \u2013 5, 8, 9,13,19,21 were identified and released to far\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<h5>02. Improvement of agro techniques and plant protection methods.<\/h5>\n<p>Recommendations have been introduced as follows.<br \/>\na) How varietal difference and seed size influence on seedling vigour<br \/>\nb) How environmental conditions affect survival and growth rate of softwood grafts.<br \/>\nc) Efficient nursery practices for cashew grafting.<br \/>\nd) Variability in a seedling population and its influence on productivity<br \/>\ne) Time of transplanting.<br \/>\nf) Detail studies on Helopeltis and its control through Red Ants and chemicals.<br \/>\ng) Stem Borer management studies and its control.<br \/>\nh) Control and management of common cashew diseases.<br \/>\ni) Development of a protocol for propagation of cashew through tissue culture.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69f273ab68f3d\" data-id=\"69f273ab68f3d\" data-height=\"50\" data-height-mobile=\"50\" data-height-tab=\"50\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"10\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1608280323286{background-color: #f7f7f7 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_row_inner el_class=&#8221;paddin-cont-right&#8221;][vc_column_inner el_class=&#8221;paddin-cont-left&#8221; width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h5>03. On-going Research trials.<\/h5>\n<p>a) Performances of seedling plants and bud- grafted plants with the same treatments in two locations.<br \/>\nb) Possibility of producing planting material by patch budding.<br \/>\nc) Research to find-out suitable canopy height to collect maximum scions.<\/p>\n<h5>05. Publications<\/h5>\n<p>a) A book on cashew cultivation and Techniques.<br \/>\nb) Summarized form of above book in Tamil.<br \/>\nc) Recent Advances in Cashew Research.<br \/>\nd) Cashew Bulletin (in Sinhala and English)<br \/>\ne) Research and conference papers.<br \/>\nf) Three M.Phil thesis.<\/p>\n<h5>06.
